Relive history, rekindle the love for food, and master the art of service. BS Hospitality
Management offers a multi-disciplinary approach to where students will learn the best
practices in hospitality and restaurant management. They will also develop culinary
excellence thorough exposure to fine dining and catering services. At the end of the
course, students will become hospitality professionals who are compassionate,
self-directed, and client focused.

About the Hotel & Restaurant Management study programme

Structure and content

The Bachelor of Hotel and Restaurant Management is designed to provide students
with the necessary knowledge, skills and attitude in the management of the different
facets of Hospitality Management. Our program trains students for supervisory and
managerial positions both in the Hotel and Restaurant Industry, as well as Tourism and
Hospitality Industry.

The programme is organized around:

  • Common core programme
  • Traineeship (18 weeks)

Common core programme

  1. The program is mapped out towards academic excellence through local and
    international linkages.
  2. The program develops individual characters suitable to match the work attitude
    needed in the industry.
  3. The program creates technologically-enhanced and intellectually competent
    professionals.
  4. The program manifests decisiveness in creating new strategies and devices
    giving the graduates a greater edge in the global market.
  5. The program identifies ways of seeking an opportunity for graduates through
    exposure to state-of-the-art facilities and machines.

 

Internship

The practicum workload is intended to help undergraduates apply their formal education in a real work environment By following the instruction given in the training logbook (with an emphasis on working skills), students are required to undertake a 600-hour practicum in various areas of the tourism and hospitality industry.

These areas may be in

  • Food production
  • Front Office
  • Food and beverage service
  • Housekeeping
  • Government agencies in Tourism and Hospitality
  • Meetings, Incentives, Conference
  • Other relevant areas of exposure based on specialization/training received in school

Close contact with a workplace supervisor/mentor is needed as students are required to
produce both a training report, with an emphasis on problem-solving and supervisors’
evaluations. Attendance and participation are also required at the practicum seminars
held at the start and finish of the successful practicum.

 

Graduates of the College of Hotel and Restaurant Management after four years of stay in the college, can:

CTHRM REQUIREMENTS

To enroll for the degree of Bachelor of Science in Hotel and Restaurant Management,
applicant must have graduated from Senior High School under the Technical-Vocational
as well as General Academic Strand.
